T he
new book by Dr. Langdon, Understanding Cosmetic Laser Surgery,
has just been published. From the book jacket: Understanding

At the annual meeting of the International Society for Dermatologic Surgery in Venice, Italy, Dr. Langdon was an instructor for two courses. In the course on "Facial Rhytidectomy - The Dermatologic Facelift," he described his technique for minimal incision facelift. In the other course on "Blepharoplasty" he described the lower eyelid blepharoplasty and the endoscopic forehead lift. His co-instructor for each course was Dr. Alina Fratila of Bonn, Germany.

At the annual meeting of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery in Chicago, Dr. Langdon was an instructor for the "mini-session" course on Liposuction and Fat Transfer. The other faculty members were Dr. Gerald Bernstein of Seattle and Dr. Kimberly Finder of San Antonio.

Dr. Langdon was a panel member for the forum "A Multi-Specialty Approach to Cosmetic Surgery" at the annual meeting of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery in Chicago. He discussed the utility of the minimal incision facelift.

At the annual
meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology in Washington,
DC, Dr. Langdon was invited to speak on the endoscopic
brow-lift. He discussed his technique for performing this
procedure safely using local anesthesia and sedation.

Dr. Langdon gave
a presentation at the annual meeting of the American Society for
Dermatologic Surgery in Palm Desert, California. He lectured on
his latest technique for minimum incision face-lift (ExpresS-Lift).

Dr. Langdon
served on the faculty for the course "Latest Techniques for
Facial Rejuvenation for the Dermatologic Surgeon" sponsored
by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, in Palm
Desert, CA. He lectured on the endoscopic brow-lift and served
as a preceptor demonstrating other surgical techniques.

July 2005
At the summer
meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology in Chicago, Dr.
Langdon spoke on the ExpresS-Lift, his innovative technique for
minimal incision face-lift performed with local anesthesia. Dr.
Langdon was one of three surgeons invited to speak on "New
Innovations in Dermasurgery."

May 2005
Dr. Langdon was
an invited faculty member at the NextStep conference held on the
campus of Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. He spoke on his
techniques for performing liposuction and also demonstrated this
procedure by performing abdominal liposuction on a patient at
Stanford University Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Langdon
discussed his 15 year experience in cosmetic surgery.

May 2005
Dr. Langdon
served on the faculty of the course for surgeons
"Refinements in Regional Reconstruction" held on the
campus of Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. He spoke on the
topic "Overview of Facial Surgical Anatomy." The
course was sponsored by the American Society for Dermatologic
Surgery.

In the latest
issue of Yale Medicine, the alumni magazine of Yale University
School of Medicine, Dr. Langdon's new book Understanding
Cosmetic Laser Surgery was highlighted along with other recent

Dr. Langdon gave
several presentations at the 27th Annual Meeting of the German
Society for Dermatologic Sugery and Oncology (Frankfurt) and at
the 7th International Darmstadt Live Symposium for Dermatologic
Surgery, Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery (Darmstadt). In addition
to speaking on face-lift surgery, he gave a one hour in-depth
seminar on his surgical technique (ExpresS-Lift) and live
presentations on erbium laser resurfacing and patient evaluation
for facial cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Langdon was
an invited speaker at the annual meeting of the American Society
for Dermatologic Surgery in San Diego, CA. He was on a panel
with plastic surgeons Grady Core, MD (Birmingham, AL), Patrick
McMenamin (Sacramento, CA) and Stephen Hopping (Washington, DC).
He spoke on face-lift and neck techniques.

March 2004
Dr. Langdon
served on the faculty for the course "Latest Techniques for
Facial Rejuvenation for the Dermatologic Surgeon" sponsored
by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, in Los
Angeles, CA. He lectured on three topics: Local Anesthesia for
Facial Cosmetic Surgery, Minimally Invasive Face-lifts, and
Endoscopic Forehead Lift.

Dr. Langdon was
on the invited faculty for the Advanced Cosmetic Surgery course
conducted during the annual meeting of the American Academy of
Dermatology in Washington, DC. He lectured on his method of
mid-face lifting (malar fat pad suspension), an adjunct to his
ExpresS-Lift face-lift.

2004
At the annual
meeting of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery in
Hollywood, FL, Dr. Langdon presented an in depth lecture on the
safe use of local anesthesia for facial cosmetic surgery
procedures. He spoke for one hour on the techniques he uses to
provide anesthesia for surgeries such as face-lift, endoscopic
forehead lift, blepharoplasty and liposuction.

Dr.
Langdon was interviewed for a recent story on tumescent
liposuction (November 17, 2003) on WFSB in Hartford.

Dr. Langdon has
been invited to speak at the annual meeting of the International
Society for Dermatologic Surgery in Berlin, Germany. He will
conduct an advanced seminar on his ExpresS-Lift minimal incision
face-lift for physicians from around the world. Dr. Langdon will
lecture for one hour about the technique that he has developed
for this surgery.

Dr. Langdon was
invited to speak at the annual meeting of the Michigan
Dermatological Society in Grosse Point Shores, near Detroit. He
was one of three invited guest speakers and in his 90 minute
presentation discussed "Advanced Dermatologic Cosmetic
Surgery." The other guest speakers were Dr. Mark Lebwohl
(Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York City) and Dr. Ted
Rosen (Baylor College of Medicine, Houston).

"Laser
Eraser" (April 7, 2003): Dr. Langdon was featured in a
special article about high tech laser methods for removing
tattoos in the New Haven Register.

2003
Dr. Langdon
presented his latest results with the exciting Express-Lift
minimum incision face-lift at the annual scientific meeting of
the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery in Palm Springs, CA.
The AACS is the largest multidisciplinary organization of
surgeons who specialize in cosmetic surgery and includes
general, facial, dermatologic and oculoplastic surgeons.

2002
For the first
time at a national medical society meeting, Dr. Langdon lectured
on his exciting new minimal incision face-lift, the
Express-Lift, at the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery
in Chicago. His presentation was very well received and was
described by Dr. Roy Geronemus, the president of the society, as
one of the two most important papers in the entire meeting.

Dr. Langdon
presented his results using FAMI lipo-augmentation (also known
as Space-Lift) at the World Congress on Liposuction Surgery in
Denver. This biannual meeting is sponsored by the American
Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and is the most important event in
the field of liposuction and related surgery.

Dr. Langdon was
interviewed by Health Team 8 reporter Jayne Saffer for a news
story on WTNH Channel 8 in New Haven, CT. The topic of the story
was Endermologie therapy for improvement of cellulite. This is

We have finally
moved into our brand new office in Guilford! The new office is
more than twice the size of the Madison office and is specially
designed to accommodate our cosmetic surgery patients. The
operating room and laser facilities are state-of-the-art and are
designed for maximal comfort and safety of our patients.

This November at
the American Society for Dematologic Surgery annual meeting in
Denver, Dr. Langdon will speak on his methods for laser
resurfacing using the erbium laser. He will also give a
presentation on his technique of "pure tumescent
liposuction," in which he uses only local anesthesia and
does not need to use any additional medications such as
sedatives or pain relievers. Pure tumescent liposuction affords
the ultimate in both safety (see safety issues ) and patient
comfort.
